OUR STORY

Principal & Creative Director

TIGER RUSSELL-YEH

Creative director, designer, athlete, and a gracious at-home chef, Tiger brings creativity and positivity to every facet of his life.

Tiger spent the first 2.5 years of his career at Free Association, Channing Tatum’s Film and TV production company, where he rose from intern to Executive Assistant to the President, Peter Kiernan. Under the leadership of Tatum, Kiernan, and Reid Carolin, he gained hands-on experience streamlining executive operations, writing script coverage, organizing premieres, and pitching new projects—all while fetching hot coffees. He eventually produced the Magic Mike podcast and led the redesign and animation of the company’s new logo.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Tiger earned a B.A. in Psychology and Film, Television, and Media. During all four of his college years, he was a Group Leader for Wolverine Support Network, a student-led organization promoting mental well-being in an inclusive, confidential environment. He also mentored students with learning disabilities and conducted research to improve academic resources for the L.D. community.

Having overcome many challenges growing up with dyslexia, dyspraxia, and ADHD, Tiger is passionate about giving back. His personal experiences, years of research, and education drive his mission to improve resources and awareness for children and teenagers with learning disabilities. He aspires to establish a nonprofit dedicated to this cause in the near future.

Living and working out of Los Angeles, you can catch Tiger trailblazing in the hills of Hollywood, doing his best Arnold impression at Gold’s Gym, or cooped up in a coffee shop writing poetry.

The Story behind the company logo and Tiger’s name

LEGACY OF “TIGER”

LEGACY OF “TIGER”

Contrary to popular belief, Tiger’s name is not a reference to Tiger Woods (who, guess what, is legally named Eldrick).

Tiger was named in honor of his Akon 阿公 (Mandarin for “grandfather”), who was in a coma during his birth and passed away shortly after.

Outside of being an incredible father to his four children, George Yeh was an engineer and inventor, with the unique ability to solve complicated problems with simple solutions.

George was born the Chinese Year of the Tiger — outside of an aesthetic fascination with the animal and owning much Tiger decor, George’s spirit, nobility, boldness and ferocity encompassed the spirit of the Tiger…

In 1968, it was announced that the astronauts on the Apollo 8 mission were in trouble. Their water source was faulty, and without help, their health would be in grave danger. George contacted NASA that night and gave them a simple solution that used supplies the astronauts had on board. He saved all of their lives.

On March 28, 1979, a meltdown occurred at Pennsylvania's Three Mile Island nuclear power plant that would come to be known as “America’s Worst Nuclear Disaster” (Forbes, 2023). When George heard the news, he sent a telegram to then-president Jimmy Carter, explaining a simple chemical reaction that would get what needed to be done. Once again, his genius way of using simplicity saved lives.

Just like his grandfather, Tiger’s MO has always been finding solutions in simplicity. Tiger hopes to carry on George Yeh’s legacy through his creative work, attitude, and future ventures in philanthropy.

The name and logo for Burning Bright Creative is a nod to multiple inspirations: the energy, spirit, and astronomical achievements of George Yeh, the famous William Blake Poem THE TYGER (1794), and also Georges Méliès’ A TRIP TO THE MOON (1902)—a French silent era sci-fi film that depicts a whimsical journey to the moon by a group of astronomers.
